Some meetings and discussions lead to a change of point of view and to thinking differently. The Belles Âmes project takes me to meet inspiring people who question our way of life and the meaning of life. This 3rd report traces the life of my grandparents. WHY MY GRANDPARENTS? Jeannine & Fernand Détrés are a woman and a man married for 65 years. They experienced war when they were children, but also major changes in society. I have always loved listening to my grandparents. And I have always been struck by their ability to face life's challenges, while keeping a smile. They taught me a lot, both in their words and in their way of being. This is a tribute that I pay them here. And their laughter resonates like a cry of hope against the harshness of life. War, occupation, resistance, encounter, disability, women's rights, clandestine abortion, sexual harassment at work, and of course love are the topics that naturally came to the table when I asked my grandparents to tell me about their lives.
