Two years have passed since the administration of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio revised the three national security documents to drastically strengthen Japan's defense capabilities. The aim was to drastically increase Japan's deterrent power, including by acquiring counterattack capabilities, and to deepen the Japan-U.S. alliance to deal with the increasingly severe security environment, but it is unclear whether the true meaning of these efforts will be conveyed to the next U.S. President Trump.
