https://www.ersatzteilshop.de/herd/ko... Today we are replacing a radiant heater from a hob. In our case, we have a ceramic hob from AEG. You can find the right radiant heaters directly in our online shop. Basically, it's about removing a radiant heater and looking at it. The radiant heaters are exposed to a lot of thermal stress and can often be defective. This means that the heating wire under the glass can burn out and the hob no longer glows. To remove it, please unplug the device and put on work gloves. We don't need a lot of tools, as AEG has them very easily installed. A flat-head screwdriver and needle-nose pliers should be enough. Press the small clamps in the recesses gently and lever them upwards until you hear a click. Please do this all the way around and separate the hob from the housing. Remove the ceramic hob upwards. It may be that your hob has stuck to the radiant heater and the control electronics after a long period of use. Carefully lift the hob and remove it. Put the ceramic hob to one side. The radiant heaters are exposed and we take a closer look at everything. We see different sizes of cooking zones that can be switched on separately. We want to replace one of these cooking zones. These are not universal components. You can find the right spare parts in our shop using the type number of your device. For AEG, for example, it is the PNC number, an 11-digit number sequence. For Bosch, Siemens and Neff, it is the E numbers. Simply enter these numbers in the optimized spare parts search on our website. We are now taking out a hob. This is easy because the heating elements are only laid on. A guide shows you how the heating coil is inserted. Before you remove something, it is best to take a photo to help you so that you can then easily put the whole thing back to its original state. Take a pair of needle-nose pliers and remove the cables from the radiant heater. Once the cables are disconnected, the radiant heater can be removed and replaced. You can find the right component to replace in our shop using the PNC number or the E number. For other hobs, we have some numbers on the back. So if you can only open your hob from below, these numbers are important for you. We put the new component back in the reverse order and plug in the plugs. If you took a photo, you can use it now to help you. Be careful with the cables so that none get trapped. The ceramic hob can now be put on. A quick note on our own behalf, why are we doing all this? We want to save as many devices as possible from the scrap yard. Today we repaired a hob. But the whole thing works just as well with washing machines, refrigerators and dryers. Our aim is to carry out a small repair rather than disposing of the devices straight away. Because disposal and production of new devices causes an incredible amount of CO2! Now put the ceramic hob back on and make sure that the tabs are on top of each other. Check all the way around to make sure that everything fits properly and that all the clamps are in the right place. A click confirms that it has clicked into place. We were able to successfully replace our heating zone and the hob is ready for use. So then! Let's get to work!
