The floor we have used is Nixtep from Parquet Fácil and we have chosen and bought it in their online store to do it like any DIYer and also evaluate the service they give us from their website. And we are very satisfied with the quality of the product, the delivery times, the shipping and everything related to the purchase! As we can't avoid it ????, before installing the floor, we have done some tests to check its resistance to water and impact. In the video you will be able to compare the results. The floor we are going to install is a state-of-the-art vinyl floor, its base is made of PVC and ceramic powder, so it is 100% waterproof. Once in the kitchen, the layout is the first thing. We have prepared a sketch where you will see very clearly how we arrange the slats and make the meeting point with the door, the furniture, the appliances, etc. We are using the domestic version of Nixtep that is guaranteed for 30 years and is 5 mm thick. Juan recommends using it for the home, because, if you use the commercial version, which is 7 mm thick, you have to cover more height with the door and you will have more problems fitting the appliances under the counter. We place the insulation. We have chosen a rubber one, 2 mm thick, which will provide us with acoustic and thermal insulation and comfort when walking. The strips do not overlap and are stuck with adhesive tape. We start at the meeting point with the door. Once the first row is in place, we decide how to arrange the joints. You can do it in a continuous joint, using the last cut of the previous plank to put it in the next row. You just have to make sure that this piece of plank is always longer than 30 cm. We have put the joints in half a plank. And then, we place planks row by row. The tongue and groove is very simple. Use the lath to adjust the joints a little more and make sure they close well. The advantage of this floor is that it can be cut with a cutter. The jigsaw is very useful for making grooves. When we get to the line of the furniture, we make grooves in the planks to insert the legs of the furniture and give more consistency to that last row where we are going to be stepping when we cook. And finally: the finishes. We must put a skirting board that is also water resistant. Parquet fácil offers you a very wide range with different heights and thicknesses. They are made of expanded polystyrene and finished in PVC. We can make the mitres with the jigsaw. It also helps us to cut the height of the baseboard. To cut the entrance door, an electric brush. Where the kitchen floor meets the hallway, we put a slope profile with the same decoration as the Nixtep floor we have chosen.
