The Reading Scottish Pipe Band is one of the largest pipe bands in the South East of England, playing at many local and international events and competitions. Some members of the band are Scottish but not all, some are from England, others from Italy, Zimbabwe, Australia, South Africa etc. As a band they are not from Edinburgh and have no real connection with the city. The band originates from Reading in the South East of England. The band was formed in 1957 by former pipers of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. As such they wear the Cameron of Erracht tartan. It offers a wide repertoire of Scottish music including Slow Airs, Marches, Strathspeys and Reels which can be arranged to suit any occasion including processions, parades, static shows and solo performances. It also travels to farther afield and has performed extensively in France and Spain, as well as Serbia, Sardinia and Japan, including Verona and Ivrea (Italy), Valreas, Firminy (France) and Bilbao (Spain).
