In our RETRO episode we are travelling with the Rhaetian Crocodile, the steam locomotive Elefant and the electric multiple unit ET 425. In May 2000, Eisenbahn-Romantik was on a special trip in Graubünden. From Stuttgart we travelled with the electric multiple unit ET 425. From Chur we travelled in the newly restored Alpine Classic Pullmann special train through fascinating landscapes and over outstanding railway buildings. The famous Landwasser Viaduct and the Albula Railway with its daring route are particularly noteworthy. The train was pulled by the Rhaetian Crocodile, the meter-gauge brown little brother of the Swiss electric locomotive legend. The destination was St. Moritz. From there, a special vintage train consisting of platform wagons was pulled by a steam locomotive G 4/5, also known as Elefant, to the Lower Engadine. Another highlight was the trip with two first-generation multiple units and an open panorama carriage to the still snow-covered Bernina Pass. We broadcast this episode with the number 373 for the first time on May 21, 2000 under the title: Railway nostalgia in Graubünden. #eisenbahnromantik #swr All statements and facts correspond to the status at the time and have not been updated since then.
