Rahmad Darmawan is one of the coaches and former players of the Indonesian national team. RD is Rahmad's famous initials and the coach was born on November 28, 1966. In the 2024-2025 season, RD has agreed to handle Barito Putera again. Rahmad was once the coach of Indonesia U-23, before he resigned on December 13, 2011. With Indonesia U-23, RD successfully brought the Garuda Muda squad to the SEA Games final twice in 2011 and 2013. Achievements at the club level, RD twice brought his players to win the Indonesian League. First, he led Persipura Jayapura to win the 2005 Indonesian League Premier Division. Then, Sriwijaya FC successfully became the 2008 Indonesian League champion. Together with Sriwijaya FC, RD also successfully won the 2008, 2009, and 2010 Indonesian Cups. RD started his coaching career at Persikota in 1997, then in addition he had a career in the Malaysian League handling T-Team FC from 2015 to 2017. Meanwhile, Persija has been coached for two periods. RD has also handled Mitra Kukar, TIRA-Persikabo, Madura United, and Rans Nusantara FC. When he was actively playing, RD only defended two Indonesian League clubs, namely Persikota and Persija. He also had a career at ATM FA from the Malaysian League. Regarding the Indonesian national team under the guidance of Shin Tae-yong, RD also said many things related to the Garuda squad under the guidance of the South Korean coach.
