In this video I will try to clarify a question that always comes up, which is how often you have to change the filter tubes or when to change the biological material in the aquarium. For me and based on my experience, you should never change it. You simply have to know how to clean it well and therefore make sure that the pores are never clogged with dirt. This way, we will have crystal-clear water and a decent bacterial colony that proliferates. The only reason, in my opinion, to change the filter tubes is if they are of poor quality and have become smooth or have broken, because they would leave almost no space for the bacterial colony in our aquarium. Apart from cleaning them as I indicate in the video, we can always leave the aquarium tubes like new by washing them with hydrogen peroxide and thus we will clean both the exterior and interior porosity.
