More than a band: a community. It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from. In fact, not even where you continue your journey. It doesn't matter how old you are. It doesn't matter if you work as a support worker or as a top manager. It doesn't matter if your instrument is worth as much as a weekly menu in the canteen or as much as a new car. There are no status symbols here, but real symbols. Just as many as we are. And although there are many of us, it is not just a loud crowd. No two of us are the same, but there is no difference between us either. We need everyone to be someone together, and you are the one without whom we would be one less person! The big adventure started in 2018, which more and more people are joining. Our community is made up of beginners who make music for themselves, routine professionals, and amateurs who want to break away from everyday life. CITYROCKS was founded by a group of friends of musicians in 2017 in Szeged, Hungary. The aim of the initiative is to bring live music, including rock music, to as many people as possible, as well as to give a concert experience to professional and experienced musicians as well as to amateurs who until now could only play music at home. CITYROCKS participants include children as well as older people. There is no upper or lower age limit. At the concerts so far, the youngest participant with an instrument was 8 years old, and the oldest was 74 years old. Another fundamental objective of CITYROCKS is to create a cohesive, music-loving and cultivating community in addition to promoting live music and rock. CITYROCKS events are regularly attended by musicians from all countries of the Carpathian Basin, as well as from many countries in Europe, but also from America. CITYROCKS' social media pages have more than 200,000 followers (Facebook, Youtube), and their videos have been watched by more than 170 million people worldwide on their own platforms and thanks to partner content providers. CITYROCKS' program came in third place in 2018 and second place in 2019 in the "domestic concert of the year" vote, in a field where only arena productions made it into the top ten. CITYROCKS - modeled on the pioneering initiative of the Italian Rockin1000 - first organized their special rock flashmob in Szeged in 2018, and since then they have held big-band concerts and a series of all-day music programs in several Hungarian cities and abroad (in Transylvania). CITYROCKS also organizes multi-day musician camps, where, in addition to concerts, they help beginning musicians with music education and band practice. A special moving concert (RockTruck) is also organized for the camp residents, where a truck with 50 musicians on board travels through the streets of the town where the camp is located, while playing Hungarian and international rock classics. Each city that invites the production as a host will for one day become the capital of a community moving in one direction, and thus become a part of this community.
