Subscribe to our channel / @nangateam Today's declared goal is to get some legs and gain altitude: achieved! After feeling unwell at Giordani, I go up with Flavio and Marco to the Quintino Sella refuge at Felik from Staffal (Valle del Lys, altitude approximately 1900m) from path number 1 where, as expected, we don't meet a soul. It's much more convenient to get to the Passo Inferiore della Bettolina with the lifts (we save about 1000 meters of altitude difference) but today we are here precisely to work hard! Contrary to incomprehensible reviews read at home, we unanimously agree that the path is wonderful. Tiring but varied and wild in the right way. We meet just a marmot or two, no trace of hikers. At Colle (altitude 2900m) we take the much more popular path 9 that goes straight up to Felik. Around 3000m or a little further the snow becomes continuous and we equip ourselves with ice axes and crampons. It involves climbing large snowfields but the good consistency makes things much easier for us. With difficulty we reach the final crest, the famous crest of the blue hemp. Here we release the crampons and set up a lanyard to ensure the necessary safety. This section is not very short, the many meters uphill on the path first and then on the snow are felt but we are very well and the objective is achieved. First time for me here, a magical place. I realize that it is the starting point for much more famous objectives. The initial idea was to continue on the glacier but the weather is not exactly optimal and the idea of the already long descent make us opt for the backtrack. We are very happy with this beautiful trip and we will definitely return here, those peaks are calling us. Thanks to Marco and Flavio for the great work of pioneers along the entire route.
