Two mountain eyes, two glacial lakes are in the heart of Pošćenje, which nestles under the Durmitor and Vojnik mountains. Pošćenje stands guard over the entrance to the Nevidio canyon, the last conquered canyon in Europe, in which human foot first set foot in 1965. Pošćenje was the seat of the old Drobnjak, a Serbian tribe that settled here a millennium ago. The church in Lent dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, around which there is a necropolis with stećci from the 14th century, was for a long time the congregational temple of all Drobnjak. The Drobnjak tribe is one of the two largest tribes in Montenegro, whose descendants are scattered throughout the Balkans, mostly in Serbia and Montenegro. That tribe gave birth to Jovan Cvijić, Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, Njegoš's teacher Simo Milutinović Sarajlija, Duke Novica Cerović and Živojin Mišić, as well as many other famous personalities.
