Composed in partnership with Marcelo Birk, the story of the punk who crosses Avenida Osvaldo Aranha on horseback, with the Chinese girl on the back, is a reflection of the youth of Porto Alegre at that time. The song describes the underground rock scene in the capital, while also bringing elements of rural Rio Grande. Over time, the song gained notoriety across the pampas. Today, Amigo Punk is sung in guitar circles all over the country and, despite being a milonga, it is honored by rock bands as a classic of Rio Grande do Sul rock. Since the 1980s, Frank has been one of the most important names in the rock music scene in Rio Grande do Sul.
