For psoriatic arthritis, an early diagnosis is essential to counteract joint damage with sometimes disabling impact. But this time window can be very limited and the diagnostic delay can lead to greater damage to the bone structures at the joint level. Today, doctors have effective therapies available that can induce disease control and eventual remission in a high percentage of cases provided that they are started promptly, so early diagnosis and timely contacting a rheumatologist are crucial. We discuss this with Professor Roberta Ramonda, Associate Professor of Rheumatology at the Department of Medicine-DIMED of the University of Padua. We met her in Milan on the sidelines of a meeting with the press.
