About :

Prof. Dr. André Thess was a visiting professor at Stanford University, USA, at Nagoya University in Japan and at Northeastern University Shenyang in China. He was born in Saint Petersburg in 1964 and received his doctorate from TU Dresden in 1991. He has also spent time abroad in France (Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon, Institut de Mécanique de Grenoble) and the USA (Princeton University). He works at the University of Stuttgart, Institute for Energy Storage (IES) and Institute for Technical Thermodynamics (ITT). Homepage: https://www.uni-stuttgart.de/presse/e... The conversation starts with the Carnot battery, an interesting technology with which one can theoretically achieve 100% efficiency. We follow questions about nuclear energy and the behavior of the media. The costs of CO₂ avoidance and finally a look into the kitchen from the perspective of a thermodynamicist. Automatically generated transcript of the conversation: https://tinyurl.com/Prof-Thess-PDF My videos show the different views on the broad field of energy production, supply and consumption. To ensure that the information is of high quality, I speak to real experts who are familiar with the topic through scientific achievements and many years of experience. Since I myself have a doctorate in physics, work as a professor at a university and have been working on energy topics for over 20 years, I feel confident in asking intelligent questions. I hope that my viewers will gain real education on the topic of energy and not just headlines that are of no help with such a complex topic.
