Vojín XY is a documentary portrait of Oldřich Říha, a veteran of Czech rock 'n' roll. It offers a direct insight into his philosophy of life, while also opening completely new topics. The film was created as a training course at the Miroslav Ondříček Film Academy in Písek. Director: Jiří Klimov Camera: Jiří Zábranský, Petra Stráníková. Sound: Yurii Fenynets Editing: Martin Koutný. Production: Daniel Drábek. Year of production: 2022 In only (almost) a quarter-hour format, director Jiří Klimov and his team draw a portrait of Oldřich Říha - the personification of the musical group Katapult, who this year will celebrate his 75th birthday and at the same time 60 years on stage. The documentary tells about Old Říh and Catapult in one, because as the main protagonist himself says with unmistakable diction: "I don't play with Catapult. I'm Catapult. 24 hours a day..." Through narration, video clips and aptly chosen places ("I called the rehearsal room a church, because I have all my saints there..."), objects and situations, it was possible to capture the essence of Olda Říha's personality and his philosophy of life, the life of a musician in body and a soul who never allowed the run of his group (despite the ban on performing under the former regime) to stop for the only time in history.
