He founded the school (Academy), which many believe was the first school of higher education in the Western world. Plato had a great impact on people's lives and attitudes. Since Plato's life dates back to several years ago and is very distant from our time, we have little information about Plato, not only his biography, the society he lived in, what Greece and the city of Athens were like at that time. All the things we know are related to second-hand writings and those who wrote about Plato. Therefore, the best way to get to know Plato is to go to the people who were influenced by Plato. Plato says in one of his most famous sentences: Societies are like humans, they grow like humans. The thing to think about here is how the ancient society in which Plato lived allowed this philosopher to express his thoughts freely. There is a gap of about 2500 years between our time and Plato's time, which makes us not have much information about his early days. What characterizes Plato was born in a high level Athenian family in ancient Greece. Historians believe that Plato was born between 429 and 423 BC. Plato was born right during the Peloponnesian wars. It is said that Plato's father was called Ariston and he was a descendant of Kodros, the king of Athens. His mother's name was Perictione, who was from the generation of elders and legislators of the city of Athens. Plato's maternal uncle and grandfather were members of the 30 Titans system. If you have seen the story of Socrates' life (it was made before), we said that the 30 Titans system was a dictatorial government that after the failure It was used in the Peloponnese wars in Athens. As Plato emerged from such a powerful and wealthy family, whether it was his mother or father, it can be assumed that he spent his youth and youth at a high level of prosperity and had all the facilities of that time at his disposal. At that time, only the rich could afford the possibility of learning literacy. have that it is very likely that Plato was also part of this class. Plato writes somewhere: "The most important part of learning is its constant repetition and protection" from a young age he was taught by the greatest philosophers of his time. He showed so much interest in learning that this process continued until the end of his life. It is said that Plato had two brothers and one sister. Plato's father, Ariston, died in his childhood, but the events after his father's death remain unknown to us, but Plato was not a name given at birth, but his original name (Aristocles). The word (Plato) or (Plato) in the Greek language had a broad meaning. It is not known exactly why they gave him such a nickname, some wrote because of his appearance, which was four-shouldered and tall, some said that it had nothing to do with his appearance, but because of his extensive thoughts on philosophical issues, they gave him the nickname of Plato. Plato developed very well in all academic fields and all sources confirm that Plato was very intelligent. Even outside the classroom, Plato was a brave and fearless person and he wrestled with his rivals. It is even said that he participated in the Isthmian games, which were held twice before and after the Olympics in Athens. In order to understand Plato's philosophy, we must go to the thinkers who were inspired or influenced by Plato. Pythagoras had a great influence on Plato's thoughts. When we talk about Pythagoras, we remember the Pythagorean theorem and we know Pythagoras as a mathematician as we were taught in textbooks. While Pythagoras was beyond the mathematical world, Pythagoras was one of the first philosophers in the field of the theory of reincarnation - Metempsychosis, a theory that simply says that the soul after biological death continues a new life in a physical form with a different body. Pythagoras also believed that everything can be explained by the science of numbers, even the universe. Both of these theories that we mentioned had a great impact on Plato's writings, as many historians believe that Plato was directly taught by Pythagoras. Apart from these thoughts, Plato was also proficient in mathematics. One of the most famous students of Plato's mathematics class was Euclid (EUClid), who is known as the "Father of Geometry" or the "Founder of Geometry" whose ideas were the foundation of all geometry education in the West for two thousand years. In addition to all that we have said, we should also mention (Heraclitus and Parmenides), two of the old philosophers from the pre-Socra
