Who is Zeynep Direk: She was born in 1966 in Istanbul. She studied at Galatasaray High School and then at Boğaziçi University, Department of Philosophy. She started her PhD in 1992 at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She spent the years 1995-1996 following Derrida's lectures in Paris. She received her PhD in 1998 from the University of Memphis. In addition to his editorial work in Turkey and abroad (The Skin of the World, Witness to the Infinite, Who Invented the Concept of Race, etc.), he is known for his articles on Derrida, Levinas, Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty and Sartre, which he published in Defter and Felsefelogos magazines. He has a book called The Experience of Otherness. He worked at Galatasaray University between 1998-2014. He has been a faculty member at Koç University, Department of Philosophy since 2014.
