The Trollstigen is considered a special driving experience on a stretch of 11 km and 11 hairpin bends along the traditional scenic route. And the nearby town of Andalsnes also offers a dreamy backdrop right on the Romsdalsfjord. We start from the Valdresflye in Maurvangen in a northerly direction. On the approximately 230 km long route, we rest at the Romsdals Bridge near Bjorli and enjoy the fantastic backdrop of this natural stone structure on the Rauma River. Not far from there, we pass the Slettafossen and then rest at the Trollveggen. Here, in addition to history from the Second World War, there is also a nice souvenir shop surrounded by trolls. Our quarters for the next two days are the Trollstigen Camping, which attracts us with its location and facilities. Despite the changeable weather and the closure to vehicles, we find our way up to the Trollstigen viewing platform. The pass is spectacular and impresses us with every step. The footpaths in particular offer views that are denied to you on any car journey. A detour to Andalsnes shows us the direct contrast to the Trollstigen adventure, because the location directly on the Romsdalfjord lets us dream in the small town of around 2400 inhabitants by the harbor and in the center.
