About :

Pensioner Ekaterina Savinskaya was murdered in a Leningrad apartment. The killer struck her multiple times with a hammer on the head, disfiguring the 57-year-old woman's face. According to a neighbor, several valuables were missing from the apartment. Suspicion falls on Savinskaya's lodger, art school student Elena Podolskikh. The day before, her landlady kicked her out of the house, accusing her of losing an expensive ring. The investigator finds the ring in Elena's bag. Her fingerprints were found on the murder weapon. However, the lodger categorically denies any involvement in Savinskaya's death and says that the ring was planted on her. It becomes known that Savinskaya made her wealth during the siege of Leningrad, while holding a lucrative job. Her brother probably knew about the criminal proceeds and could have blackmailed his sister, extorting money from her...
