The sawmill of Kustaa Eemil Saarion (1882 - 1959), or Nissilä's papa, was erected in the village of Hyynin as soon as 1927 after the big fire that hit the village. Pappa used old parts and scraps and parts he built himself to build his saw. Pappa was a "self-taught mechanical engineer" as at his funeral in 1959 was said. The sawmill's activity was at its busiest at the end of the 1940s and the 1950s. In the video, you can see the saw in operation, when the board and the second square are sawn. In addition, the equipment developed by papa, which was used to pull the logs up to the second floor of the building for sawing, will be presented. The square circle is also built by papa himself. He had "spyed" the model from Kallela's sawmill. The video also briefly tells about the fire in Hyyninte village, where more than 20 buildings were destroyed in a short time. Saha is mainly introduced by Paavo Elella, the son of the papa's daughter. His father Altti Elä owned and "ran" the sawmill after Nissilä's father. The video was shot on April 20 and 21, 2009.
