The Evangelical Church in Ostróda, designed by architect Oskar Hossfeld, was built in the years 1907-1909. It is an impressive, neo-Gothic brick building, the significance of which is emphasized by a massive tower topped with a double dome. 105 steps lead to the belfry. There are 3 original, pre-war bells, cast from steel in Bochum. Only the largest bell is used on a daily basis. The recording shows the festive ringing of all instruments at the beginning of the service on the Feast of Pentecost. The two smaller bells were powered manually. 1) Technical data of the bells Small Bell Material: cast steel Tone: b' Diameter: 102 cm Height (with crown): 93 cm Crown height: 10 cm Weight: ~ 500 kg Year of casting: 1909 Foundry: Bochumer Verein Gussstahlfabrik, Bochum Medium Bell Material: cast steel Tone: g' (-) Diameter: 127 cm Height (with crown): 116 cm Crown height: 14 cm Weight: ~ 700 kg Year of casting: 1909 Foundry: Bochumer Verein Gussstahlfabrik, Bochum Large Bell Material: cast steel Tone: e' (-) Diameter: 143 cm Height (with crown): 126 cm Crown height: ~ 18 cm Weight: ~ 1300 kg Year of casting: 1909 Foundry: Bochumer Verein Gussstahlfabrik, Bochum Gussstahlfabrik, Bochum 2) Visual description (from top) Small Bell Plate crown Neck: 2 notches Inscription: GEG.
