I accepted the biggest challenge so far, and at the invitation of GoBeyond I went to India to climb the Himalayas on motorcycles. I drove on the highest roads in the world, talked to locals, ate street food and tried to understand their culture. What is the traffic like in India? Like in the movies, but worse. They drive on the left side, so all the signs are opposite to what you usually see in Europe. I flew to New Delhi, after which I had to take a taxi for 500+ km. I arrived in Manali, where I had accommodation and rented motorcycles. After a few laps around the city, to get used to the very high altitudes, over 3000m constantly and to understand exactly how the body reacts, we left for the Ladakh region, more precisely to the city of Leh. From there we had various locations to go to, where we even stayed with the tent, but despite all this we had good conditions and excellent food. But Indian food is very spicy, be careful with that. We visited Khardungla Pass, Taglangla Pass, Baralachala pass, Chang La and went to Pangong Lake, a lake where the Indian army even has submarines and is the highest lake in the world, located on the border with China. We reached close to the border with Nepal and climbed to altitudes of over 5500m, which caused different problems for each person, from headaches, to nausea, stomach problems and concentration problems. Plus a constant fatigue and difficulty breathing, which even the people there feel. We traveled over 1,500 km on a motorcycle in 14 days, we rode different Royal Enfield models such as the Bullet, Classic and Himalayan and we withstood the toughest conditions we have ever ridden a motorcycle through. There were falls, some gave up along the way, but surely each of us made unique memories, which are impossible to repeat.
