As a little boy with a brand new first bike, I made my first rounds through old Oldenburg. My father accompanied me and took double-eight film recordings. The result was wonderful old recordings of the city before the pedestrian zone was set up, the railway being raised in 1965, the Kramermarkt on the Pferdemarkt and many other motifs. I edited these together and made a beautiful little film with a tour through old Oldenburg. Since the film had no sound (!), I meticulously added sound to everything and added my music. This makes the old recordings wonderfully authentic. And you hardly notice that it was a silent film. Format of course 4:3 / color / black and white. The slides for the film - and more - e.g. pictures of the flood disaster of 1962 - can be seen on my homepage at https://www.zeitungspeter.de/Oldenbur... An extended version with pictures of the flood disaster and a more human and cute beginning can be found at • Old Oldenburg - extended version
