It’s time for two off-road legends to go head to head! Matt is behind the wheel of a 2002 Land Cruiser and his opponent will be the Range Rover in this series of Off-Road Challenges! First, let’s compare our candidates today. Let’s start with the Land Cruiser, it has a 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 that can produce 235 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. It has a 4-speed automatic transmission and weighs 5,000 lbs. We took this car with over 270,000 miles on the clock and it still cost us £5,000! Alongside it we have the Range Rover. It dates back to 2004 and has a 4.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 that can produce 286 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission, and it weighs in at 2,440kg. What’s more, the Range Rover only cost us £2,000. So, the Range Rover is heavier, but it has more power! But will the weight difference be decisive? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
