From there we headed through the Lüneburg Heath, past Hamburg, over to Denmark via Copenhagen. In Sweden we followed the Sun Route (Eurovelo 7) from Lake Vänern to Lapland in Finland. When we arrived at the North Cape we got caught in a violent storm with wind speeds of over 200 km/h. We had to spend the first night outside. Stones flying through the air, the closure of the only access road and the storm made escape from the island of Magerøya impossible. After two days we were able to be evacuated and the extent of the disaster finally became apparent. Overturned vans, damage to the building and the destruction of all the vehicles parked there became apparent.
