"Listen to the horses and respond to them individually," is how eventing rider Sandra Auffarth describes her husbandry concept. That's why one horse is ridden before being put out to pasture. "The other is more relaxed when riding if it has been out in the pasture for three hours beforehand. It's totally different for every horse." As part of the film series "Stable visit to..." Sandra Auffarth gave a film crew from the German Equestrian Federation (FN) a look behind the scenes at her stable in Ganderkesee. In the film, the 2014 double world champion talks about how she keeps and manages her horses in order to meet their needs as horses. The 37-year-old master horse breeder grew up with horses and has been through all the stages for young eventing riders in Germany. After graduating from high school, she was appointed to the eventing perspective group. She lived and trained in Warendorf for five years before returning to her hometown of Bergedorf near Ganderkesee in 2011 with two completed apprenticeships - as a horse manager and as a sports and fitness clerk. There she runs her parents' breeding and training business. Sandra Auffarth celebrated her greatest success to date with Opgun Louvo (called Wolle) in 2012 by winning team gold at the Olympic Games in London and the bronze medal in the individual ranking. The couple celebrated the absolute high point of their career together in 2014 by winning double gold at the World Championships in Normandy. In 2024, she and her 15-year-old Viamant de Matz narrowly missed out on a start at the Olympic Games in Paris. For the film series, an FN film team visited six members of the dressage, show jumping and eventing squads this summer, who showed how they keep their horses. Films have already been released with Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB, the show jumpers Richard Vogel, who took fifth place at the Olympic Games in Paris with the United Touch S team, and a contribution with Andre Thieme, who became European champion with DSP Chakaria in 2021 and won the Grand Prix of Aachen in 2024. This is followed by a contribution about the visit to event rider and sports soldier Jérôme Robiné, who, as a newcomer, was able to take seventh place in the individual rankings at the 2023 European Championships with his Black Ice. Most recently, a film was released about the six-time U25 dressage European champion Raphael Netz and his Great Escape Camelot. The film series "Stall visit to..." is made possible by the financial support of Agria Tierversicherung.
