Meet the all-new Kia EV9! It’s a new, super impressive 7-seater from South Korea, and Mat will soon find out if it can compete with class-leading all-electric SUVs like the Tesla Model X and BMW iX! For starters, just check out this design! The EV9 is impressive, with a massive, boxy design stretching from front to back. We love the blocky wheel arches and new alloy designs – they definitely give this car a real cyberpunk feel. The headlights and taillights also look great, and we really like the black window surrounds and matching roof moldings. The blue paintwork finishes it off! Once inside, the EV9’s cabin is well laid out. There’s a large infotainment screen and digital dial, and thankfully there are a few physical and tactile feedback buttons. The interior quality is fine, but if you dig a little lower, you can expect some rough plastics! Luckily, that doesn’t bother us, as there’s plenty of storage space inside, and you can even opt for a six-seater configuration in the back. As for batteries and engines, the entry-level EV9 comes with a single electric motor producing 203bhp. The GT Line edition we have here comes with twin electric motors and the ability to generate 385bhp. Both cars are fitted with a 100kWh battery, and while the entry-level model has a range of 350 miles, the GT Line can only cover 315 miles. All of that sounds great, but all that quality doesn’t come cheap! Prices for the EV9 start at £65,000, rising to £77,000 for the top-of-the-range model! Would you consider spending that much on a Kia? Keep an eye out for Mat to see if you should!
