Former Purwakarta Regent, Dedi Mulyadi, is running as a legislative candidate for the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Party. From the KPU recapitulation results, Dedi received the highest number of votes in his electoral district. According to Demul, as he is usually called, he said that he has always gone down to embrace the community since long ago. "So there are no problems when campaigning. I have always been used to going into people's homes," he said. In fact, Demul has prepared time every Saturday and Sunday to be in the community. Demul, who is the Chairman of the West Java Golkar Party DPD, issued a fairly unique rule for his cadres who want to run as legislative candidates, namely that they are not allowed to practice polygamy and divorce their old wives. Ceu Popong, a former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives who is the oldest and has served as a council member for the longest time, said that the elected legislative candidates should not forget themselves.
