About :

There is a JR Hokkaido station called Shin-Fuji just before Kushiro on the JR Nemuro Main Line. It is an unmanned station with an island platform surrounded by sidings, and is adjacent to JR Freight's Kushiro Station. Therefore, you can see the arrival, turning, and switching of freight trains. JR Freight Kushiro Station has two round trip regular freight services to Obihiro and Sapporo per day. This is a slightly nostalgic image of the Kiha 283 series "Oozora 1" passing by. (2021) The Kiha 283 series will be active on the Nemuro Main Line until March 2022. Currently, it is a short three-car formation and is used for the "Okhotsk" and "Daisetsu" on the Sekihoku Main Line. (Aibetsu-Ikagyu) This is also a slightly nostalgic Kiha 40 series leaving Shin-Fuji Station. It was also removed from the Shintoku-Kushiro service in the March 2022 revision. It is in its final active role in the Takikawa-Furano section of the Nemuro Main Line. (Higashi-Takikawa-Akabira) Currently, all regular trains are unified to H100 series, so-called "Dekumo", and all limited express trains are Kiha 261 series 1000. Now, to the main topic, the shunting work is done between freight trains, passenger trains, and passing trains at Shin-Fuji. Looking at the layout of the Shin-Fuji station premises again, the two lines sandwiching the island platform are the Nemuro Main Line, with platforms 1 and 2 from the top. All limited express trains pass through platform 1, and normal trains also use platform 1 for both up and down. Platform 2 is used three times: at 8:35 for the outbound train (not in operation on Saturdays and Sundays), at 15:49 and 21:48 for the inbound train, and all of these times are for switching with the "Oozora" coming from the opposite direction. The upper (north) side of the Shin-Fuji station platform is JR Freight Kushiro Station, but there are also two sidings on the lower (south) side where freight trains are shunted. From what I can see, it is covered in vegetation from the side track at Kushiro, and I assume it is only used from Shin-Orakumo. After 13:20 on September 9th, DF200, which had been parked on the side track (inside), started moving with mostly empty freight cars. Soon, it was a freight train that would become 2094, departing Kushiro Freight Station at 16:30. The locomotive stopped once it reached the main line junction. It detached the last freight car and moved forward again. It stopped when the entire train passed the main line junction. The switch was switched and it was in its normal position. The train approached by pushing backwards, and an attendant stood at the end of the freight car and it continued to reverse on the main line. Then, the train meandered into Kushiro Freight Station, where it was pulled up alongside and container loading work was carried out. This is DF200-63 towed 2094, which left Kushiro Freight Station at 16:30 and headed west on the Nemuro Main Line. (Shiranuka-Otobetsu) At noon on September 10th, the day after the shunting, "Oozora 6" passes through Shin-Fuji Station. The DF200 + Koki train, which will become 2094, is already waiting on the siding. ⇒Today, on the right side, it is on the outside of the siding. On the inside of the siding, there is a single Koki car, a souvenir from yesterday. At the back left of the screen, containers are being loaded at Kushiro Freight Station. Here, we can see a railway freight yard that has become rare in recent years. And the locomotive is also being turned around. With the train that arrived at 10:21 as 2093, the leading locomotive bound for Kushiro is being switched to the opposite side. The locomotive is being turned around on the main line. It winds its way through a branch and is coupled to the Obihiro side of the train. Ready. 12:21 2092 departs from Kushiro Freight to Sapporo Freight Terminal. After 1 hour from yesterday, just after 14:20, the DF200 + Koki train on the outside of the siding starts to move. It moves forward a little and stops. The rear of the train is separated and moves forward, stopping when it passes the junction between the inside and outside of the siding. An attendant manually turns the switch lever and changes the switch from the reverse position (outside of the siding) to the normal position (inside of the siding). Once the train has moved forward, it backs up and enters the inside of the siding. Here, the last Koki car is separated. Then it moves forward until it passes the siding switch. An attendant again manually turns the switch lever from the normal position to the reverse position. The train backs up and enters the outside of the siding. Then, the rear half of the train that was separated earlier is reconnected. In other words, the work of removing the Koki car in the middle of the train has been carried out. The Koki train that will become the 2094 train is complete. It heads towards the main line. From here, it is the same routine as yeste
