Ungkal Village is a village located in Conggeang District. It is located in the northeastern part of the district and directly borders Ujungjaya District and Indramayu Regency to the north. Ungkal Village is geographically located 26 km from Sumedang City Center to the north of the capital of Sumedang Regency and to the north of Conggeang District. The Cipanas Dam inundation area in several villages in Conggeang District has the potential to become a tourist area. The construction of the Cipanas Dam has begun since November 2016 and will be completed in December 2023. The support of irrigation water from the Cipanas Dam is expected to increase the planting intensity of farmers in Sumedang and Indramayu Regencies, from previously using the rain-fed method which only produced one harvest a year to 2 or 3 harvests.
