Hi! Today we're recording a video with my sister again. We're making sushi, getting ready to welcome the New Year and talking :) ___________ To make delicious sushi we need (ingredients for 4 rolls): INGREDIENTS FOR THE RICE: -250 g rice (about 1.5 cups) -1.5 cups water INGREDIENTS FOR THE BRIDGE: 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 1 teaspoon sugar ½ teaspoon salt INGREDIENTS FOR THE INSIDE: -about 250 g salmon (fresh or smoked), cut into thin slices -4 leaves of pressed nori seaweed -1 200 g pack of cream cheese -1 medium cucumber -1 avocado -roasted sesame seeds EXTRAS: -wasabi -pickled ginger -soy sauce ACCESSORIES: -bamboo mat -knife without teeth -- “Rice and fish up” version: 1. Rinse the rice in a strainer until the water runs clear. Then throw it into a pot and pour clean water over it (for every glass of rice, 1 glass of cold water, i.e. a 1:1 ratio). Cook the rice covered, according to the instructions on the package (usually about 15 minutes), stirring occasionally. 2. In the meantime, prepare the rice dressing. Pour 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar into a bowl, add sugar and salt, mix until completely dissolved, set aside. 3. Transfer the rice to a ceramic or glass bowl, add the previously prepared rice dressing, mix gently with a spatula, set aside to cool. 4. On a bamboo sushi mat (you can wrap it in cling film so that the rice doesn't stick to it as much as it does with ours), place 1 sheet of nori, shiny side down. Place the rice on the nori sheet. With a hand moistened with water and vinegar, spread the rice so that it covers the nori sheet to ⅔ of its height, leaving the top ⅓ of the nori sheet clean. 5. Sprinkle the rice with ½ tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds, then carefully turn the sheet over so that it lies rice side down. 6. On the part of the nori sheet not covered with rice, spread about ½ tablespoon of cheese on the part 1 cm from the bottom edge, over the entire width of the sheet, then place ¼ slices of avocado and ¼ cucumber sticks on it. 7. Roll the sushi tightly from the bottom using a bamboo mat, at the very end using a brush to brush the edge of the nori with water and rice vinegar to seal the prepared roll, then roll it all the way up. 8. Spread a thin layer of cheese on the salmon sheets, place them on the sushi roll so that they stick out beyond the roll, cut off the excess salmon on both sides. 9. Cut each salmon sushi roll with a sharp knife, moistened with water and rice vinegar, into pieces 1-1.5 cm wide. 10. Serve the smoked salmon sushi with soy sauce and wasabi. Prepare the rolls from the remaining nori sheets in the same way. -- "Rice and fish inside" version: Everything is the same, except that after spreading the rice, we do not turn the sheet over, but put all the ingredients inside together with the fish. Roll tightly. And it's ready! Enjoy! ????
