Since then, every day has been a struggle for the 39-year-old. "It's like a rollercoaster ride. I'm scared and yet I have to endure every loop." Petra wants to be strong, also for her three-year-old daughter Lynn. "When Lynn grows up, she should say, I grew up without my dad, but we managed it really well." "He took his own life and mine too," Frauke's husband Heiner also committed suicide. "My old life was over from that point on." Today, eleven years later, Frauke speaks openly about her loss and wants to work through what happened to her: "I was avoided: in the supermarket, on the street. I was advised not to talk about the suicide anymore." Frauke is founding her own self-help group to give other bereaved people strength and hope - for life afterward. According to the Federal Statistical Office, up to 10,000 people take their own lives in Germany every year. Those left behind are not only left with grief, but also anger and despair and the question of why. The film follows two strong women who speak openly about the taboo subject of suicide and their pain in order to find themselves again.
