The 5 bells h°-d'-e'-fis'-a' of the parish church of St. Rupert on the beautiful Gollierplatz in Munich are ringing. Four of these bells come from the Erdinger bell foundry Czudnochowsky and were cast in 1951 (3+5) and 1960 (2+4). The large bell is a work of the Munich bell foundry Oberascher from 1903. Unfortunately, reflections occur on the Gollierplatz, which is surrounded by houses, which makes the sound on the recording seem a bit muddled. As the parish church of St. Benedict, which had been built shortly before, became too small due to the rapid increase in the number of inhabitants in the Westend towards the end of the 19th century, it was decided to build a new parish church, which was dedicated to St. Rupert of Salzburg. Built in the Romanesque style and almost spared during the war, the church was largely cleared out in the 1960s and today appears as a bright, large domed room.
