The route is located on the Northwest Veluwe. The area around Ermelo and Harderwijk has beautiful heathlands, challenging sand drifts and unique forest areas. The route takes you through the Strokelbos (partly an off-leash area for dogs) and partly over the Ermelo heath where burial mounds can still be seen and one of the largest sheepfolds in Gelderland is located with around 300 sheep. The route is characterized by a wooded area in which many single tracks have been constructed. The area has relatively little difference in altitude. The route includes some challenging banked bends and other (natural) obstacles. The route can easily be linked to the 21 kilometer long route of Harderwijk. This makes it possible to ride a route with a distance of 45 kilometers. It is also possible to ride only the part of the route that is located in the Strokelbos, for example to have a shorter route for children. The route is ideal for the novice mountain biker but is also very suitable as a quick training round for the more advanced biker.
