Follow this road, heading towards the Valle d'Arano. Here the asphalt ends and it is advisable to park the car. Take the dirt road on the left and then another dirt road that leaves the valley floor and begins to climb with a constant gradient. Follow a long straight stretch, passing the junction with path no. 13C that goes towards the Vallone dei Puzzilli. After a couple of hairpin bends you reach the Prati del Popolo pass (1607 m), from where you can see the Prati di S. Maria di Aielli down on the right. Here you climb the rocky ridge on the right following the signs. Along the route there are alternating stretches of woods and small clearings and it is possible to admire the Gole di Celano, the Serra dei Curti, the Serra di Celano and the Sirente. The woods end before reaching Monte Etra, whose peak is marked by a large metal cross. Here the view opens onto the Difesa di Aielli, the remains of the fortifications from the Italic era on the top of Monte Secino and the Fucino.
