It climbs steeply along the entire wooded northern ridge of Monte Fratta, emerging from the vegetation just before the summit at 1878 m. Always in the same direction, it continues uphill on a ridge that becomes increasingly sharper, reaching the tip of Monte Cornacchia at 2010 m. Continuing on, you reach the northern forepeak of Monte Puzzillo. The ridge, now less steep, bends towards the east and continues until reaching the summit of Monte Puzzillo (2174 m). The view extends over the Puzzillo Valley, the Costone, Punta Trento, Punta Prieste, Gran Sasso, Sirente and Majella. Excellent view also of the Morretano Pass. From the Cima del Puzzillo you go back for a few hundred meters, and on the perpendicular of the Morretano Pass at an altitude of about 2153 m you descend on steep slopes and rocks reaching the saddle at 1983 m in a NW direction, and without error following the valley bottom you return to the parking lot before the Valico della Chiesuola.
