Crashes, the machines often broke down, constant rain and torrential rain and the tough off-roading in the isolation of Albania. But still: swap? Never. This (tough) holiday took its toll in the end. Rocky, muddy tests kept cropping up before us until late at night. It was a very, very intense undertaking. We have never put a motorbike down so often before. Giving up? Not an option! There were too many beautiful moments in the 4 weeks. Swimming in mountain lakes, jumping into the cool waters of the Adriatic or camping in the beautiful mountains in the middle of nature - it was priceless! We also visited the Kosovar town of Prestina extensively (one of the most beautiful towns in the Balkans), and visited the house of the UCK martyr Adem Jashari, where 58 family members and he himself had to die under constant fire from the Serbs. A cruel and important story. Also above Mount Tomorr, the highest mountain in southern Albania at 2415m. There, where a tomb was erected for the martyr Abbas Ali on the pulpit of the mountain... and every year on the anniversary of his death, thousands of followers make a pilgrimage up there to bring a sacrificial sheep. Or the waterfalls of Bogove, which are hidden deep inside the town and now also attract masses of tourists. The Balkans are simply wild, breathtaking and sexy :-)! And there is still so much more to discover. We are not finished yet. The journey there continues. And now have fun watching. Episode I takes you from Kamenari into the mountains to Korita. There, where we had our first 50-kilometer-long, hard to gentle off-road fun to Verusa. And this area was - hard, but it was simply deserved. And that right at the start of the vacation! But you know what? It was meant to be like that, for the next tough tests in Albania. In retrospect - exactly the right vaccination, because otherwise it probably wouldn't have gone so smoothly. In Versusa we were told that injured enduro riders are regularly brought down from up there into the valley - a really rustic but beautiful mountain range that had so much to offer.
