June 3, 2021 - exactly 500 years since Moscow was liberated from the invasion of the hordes of Khan Mehmed Giray. Then, in 1521, Muscovites prayed for the protection of the city to the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, which was solemnly transferred from the Assumption Cathedral of the Kremlin to the Sretensky Monastery. The Vladimir Icon has always been especially revered in the monastery. In fact, the modern history of the monastery began about 30 years ago with this image. The film by the Soyuz TV channel opens the door to the world of the monastery on Lubyanka - an island of peace and quiet in the heart of the metropolis.
