Join us on our grand tour of Morocco. We explored Morocco from north to south and east to west, from vast sand dunes to desolate, empty roads, bustling cities and snow-capped peaks. We covered over 10,000km in eight weeks and had many unforgettable adventures. You can watch us explore remote landscapes, climb towering peaks, brave breathtaking dust and navigate the hustle and bustle of Morocco’s major cities. Real Talk: Despite our attempt to keep our Morocco travel documentary as authentic as possible, it is still a highlights reel. When editing it, we naturally tend to choose the most exciting footage. What you don’t see are the hours we spent driving through less spectacular scenery or some of the unpleasant challenges we faced. Did we like everything about Morocco? Far from it. As mentioned in the video, the sheer amount of rubbish definitely put a damper on our experience. We were also surprised by the number of children begging for money. During our trip, we counted at least 500 children asking for money or sweets. While Morocco certainly has a hard time combating poverty, this behavior often seemed to be driven less by need and more by opportunity. It is an individual choice to stop and give, of course, but when we didn’t, we were often rejected, kicked or insulted. However, in general, we found most Moroccans to be extremely friendly and helpful. The best example was the three locals who selflessly helped us change our broken tire. We can’t thank them enough. Full disclosure: This trip was entirely self-funded. However, we did enjoy a free two-night stay at La Sultana Marrakech.
