This week we visited the Milho Verde district, located about 24 km from Serro, in the interior of Minas Gerais. According to stories, it is named after a man who had only green corn to offer to the pioneers when the first bandeirantes passed through the region. Postcards of Milho Verde, the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres and the Capela de Nossa Senhora do Rosário mark the preservation of the colonial houses. Another attraction in the region is the Cachoeira do Lajeado, with an easy-access trail and the formation of beautiful natural pools, and the person who accompanied us on this incredible tour was the tour guide Marciano Correia.
