He spent eighteen years in a police uniform. He worked as a member of the Emergency Motorized Unit in Košice. He was also the president of the Slovak Association of Amateur Boxers and a member of the Knights of Malta. In March 2011, he was detained by the police and charged with tax and insurance premium evasion and failure to pay tax and insurance premiums. He was later sentenced to 11 years in prison and fined 100,000 euros. However, he did not pay the fine and therefore had to spend a year more behind bars. However, in December 2019, he unexpectedly walked away from behind the bars to freedom. He spent less than 9 years behind the prison walls. We are talking about none other than the man nicknamed the "King of Zemplín", Mikuláš Vareh, who at one time traveled around his "estate" in a helicopter. As he himself says, "I bought the helicopter because I had a lot of tax audits and I wouldn't be able to do anything without it." However, a little more than three years after his release from prison, Mikuláš Vareha decided to enter politics and founded the Stability Movement.
