How can we reconcile the belief in God's creation with scientific knowledge? How does the biblical account of creation relate to the approximately fourteen billion years of history of the universe and the evolutionary origins of the human body and mind? Does the modern, scientific worldview exclude religiosity and make it a superstition? These are questions that not only scientists, philosophers and theologians must ask themselves. They are asked by everyone who seeks a rational answer to Leibniz's question: Why is there something rather than nothing? Rev. Prof. Michał Heller gave a lecture from the Copernicus Center Lecture series: "Creation and the Beginning of the Universe" on October 24 in the Auditorium of the Larisch Palace (Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, ul. Bracka 12). Copernicus Center Lectures is a series of lectures by the Copernicus Center with the participation of the greatest scientists of our time. In previous years, lectures in this series were given by Francisco Ayala, Sir Roger Penrose, Joseph LeDoux and George Ellis. Details: http://www.copernicuscenter.edu.pl/ed...
