Instagram: / mazda.rs ⚡⚡⚡ A few months ago, the Serbian Psychological Society issued a press release about the dramatic increase in mental health problems in Serbia. All of us, in one way or another, thanks to our experiences and observation of the world around us, see and assume how things are in the world around us, but that is, after all, only a subjective opinion. This time, a clear initiative came from a point of authority and carries a certain weight. A large-scale study was conducted on a representative cause and the results are here. What is mental health like in Serbia? What is the difference between mental disorders and psychological disorders? What are the habits related to mental hygiene in Serbia? What is our attitude towards people with mental disorders and disorders, what is the systemic support, and what are the laws on mental health and the education of various personnel, from healthcare to the police? These and many other topics in conversation with Tamara Džamonja Ignjatović and Maša Vukčević Marković. Tamara Džamonja Ignjatović is a full professor at the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. She teaches courses in the field of clinical psychology and mental health. She previously worked at the Clinic of Psychiatry of the Clinical Center of Serbia, where she completed her specialization in medical psychology at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. She has taught for over 20 years at the Faculty of Political Sciences. Maša Vukčević Marković is a doctor of psychological sciences, employed at the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade as a research associate, and is the head of the organization PIN (PIN - Psychosocial Innovation Network). She has more than 10 years of experience in psychotherapy work, and is primarily engaged in research in the field of mental health, and advocating for systemic changes that would enable adequate mental health care.
