The Mauritshuis is an art museum in The Hague, Netherlands. Named after the Governor-General of Brazil, Maurits, the museum was opened in 1820 based on the collection of the National Gallery in The Hague during the time of Louis Bonaparte. The contents are not necessarily numerous, but they are all masterpieces, and Rembrandt's The Anatomy Lecture of Dr. Tulp and Jan Vermeer's View of Delft are known as masterpieces among masterpieces.
