Massimo Cacciari is Professor Emeritus of Aesthetics at the San Raffaele University in Milan and a member of the Accademia dei Lincei. He has been active in politics and is among the most present philosophical voices in public debate. He has turned his attention to the crisis of German idealism and dialectical systems, valorizing the critique of Western metaphysics typical of Nietzsche and Heidegger and following the genealogy of nihilistic thought in the classics of late-ancient, medieval and modern mysticism.
