Freddy Germanos presents an anthology of his past shows. The tribute to Manolis Glezos and Apostolos Santa was shown in 1982, in the context of the "First Page" show. The two heroes of the National Resistance remember the events that preceded that historic night, explain how the idea of taking down the Nazi flag from the Acropolis began, describe the route and the obstacles they faced, and also their feelings when they finally managed to climb the Acropolis rock. "We felt that we are the descendants of our great ancestors", emphasizes Apostolos Santas with emotion. "This story no longer belongs to us. It belongs to our people, to our nation", adds Manolis Glezos. But they also reveal unknown behind-the-scenes of that evening, such as their meeting with the constable Panagiotis Voutopoulos, who, even though he found out who they were the next day, did not betray their secret. Also speaking are Antonis Moschovakis, who remembers his meeting with Manolis Glezos and Apostolos Santa the day after the operation, and Kostas Mikrouleas, who refers to the pressure his father, prosecutor Ilias Mikrouleas, received in order to hand over to the Germans the perpetrators to be executed. The show shows audio-visual and photographic material from the first hours of the German occupation of Athens, on April 27, 1941, from the battle of Crete, as well as press reports, while the last free speech of Kostas Stavropoulos on the Athens Radio Station is heard at the time the Germans are preparing to cross the threshold of Athens.
