Sakutaro (Osawa Takao) still can't believe that his marriage to his fiancee Ritsuko (Shibasaki Kou) is real. Then, Ritsuko suddenly disappears, leaving a note at their new home. When Sakutaro finds out that Ritsuko has gone to his hometown of Shikoku, he heads there to chase after her. There, Sakutaro's memories of his first love, Aki, lie dormant... High school students Sakutaro (Moriyama Mirai) and Aki (Nagasawa Masami) are in a frustrating but faint love during the summer of their second year of high school. Their first love was a series of pure moments, like riding together on a scooter on the way home from school and exchanging information about each other on their Walkmans like an exchange diary. However, things suddenly change when they find out that Aki has an incurable disease, leukemia. Aki tries to live her life to the fullest, while Saku doesn't want to believe the reality Aki is facing. Soon the two of them... As Sakutaro searches for Ritsuko on his journey through Shikoku, memories of those days come back to him vividly. A certain "truth" is hidden there...
