Revealing the cause of Maïté's death: French television culinary icon dies at the age of 86 Shortly after, Maïté began hosting the cooking show La Cuisine des mousquetaires alongside Micheline Banzet5. The show, which premiered on October 22, 1983, was first broadcast on FR3 Aquitaine and then went national in 1991 – FR3 became France 3 in 1992. The program would consist of a thousand episodes. Maïté's various television appearances gave rise to cult moments, notably her very particular tasting of ortolan in 19846 or a recipe during which she had to knock out, using a mortar and pestle, a somewhat recalcitrant eel in 19927. After the end of La Cuisine des mousquetaires on September 5, 1997, Maïté hosted À table on the same channel for two years and presented Les Recettes de Maïté on Sud Radio in 1997-1998. She can notably be seen in two episodes of the science show C'est pas sorcier on France 3, both entitled Le cèpe à sorcier and broadcast in 19978 and in 2005.
