Lower Silesian Secrets #67 Mysterious villa in Karpniki, Joanna #Lamparska tells the video There are few monuments in Lower Silesia that survived World War II and the years of the Polish People's Republic in an almost unchanged state. One of the exceptions is the Oak Palace in Karpniki, which - together with Joanna Lamparska - we will visit today in our film series "Lower Silesian Secrets". As the new owner of the Oak Palace says, the most interesting thing is that the building survived not only the turmoil of war, but also the march of the Red Army. The only trace of the Russians when we bought it was a shot-through mirror in the living room. Unfortunately, when we took it down for renovation, the mirror fell apart, so the frame is still there, the mirror hangs in the same place, but it is no longer shot-through. The Oak Palace is also often called the Manor House, or Mrs. Achinger's Villa. The building is surrounded by a beautiful park that hides many secrets. Which ones?
