Louis Bardot: Helen and the Guys 2. Jose generally reminded me of Philip Kirkorov (another shameful love of my childhood). Such primitiveness is quite understandable: we, children of the nineties, who had seized abundance, gobbled everything up without discrimination, and evil producers actively took advantage of this. Later, in 1996, a sequel to the series was released: “Dreams of Love”, which was also a big hit with me! There, the student guys from France no longer lived in a dormitory, but in a house they rented. Holy shit! How could I live like that! Then it ended too – in November 1996. But it wasn’t just the series: there were other goodies associated with it. Many times from 1995 to 1997, our parents bought us chewing gum in yellow or pink wrappers. Inside there is a sticker with photos of my favorite actors – Helen and her Boys. Some of them looked very strange, but I did not attach any importance to it. And then this appeared – the utter disaster of my childhood and the childhood of all those who read books from Belarus about Ninja Turtles! But this “literary and artistic” edition surpassed them. In general, to some extent I was even lucky: being a young twelve-year-old kitten in 1996, I was able to get only one pair of books out of the three available – the rest I bought already in my tenth year. But the first two volumes were more than enough for me at the time – they appeared so crooked! Being a sensitive and tender young man, I subtly felt any falsehood and untruth, hypocrisy and dishonesty. This is what happened with the described books – I finished them with great difficulty. Literally everything pissed me off! The characters' names are crooked - Loli and Sebastian, E-E and Kri-Kri (and this is what the author himself called them, not just the girls who loved them), Christopher - as well as a bunch of "left" characters, who, in my then maximalist opinion, were definitely out of place in the universe I adored! Now, although I understand that I was wrong in this part, I still think that the main complaints about this publication were not in vain: my intuition did not deceive me. This is very weak literature, poorly written and pursuing one goal - making money!
